How would one get into bronze sculpture?
i’m young, and i’ve been seriously wanting to learn this art.
my main medium is oil, and i plan on taking fine arts courses in college.
i’m really interested in figure and portraits.
i’m not sure where to start with this.

You are on a good path planing to take fine arts courses in college.
Try to take some classes in sculpting in clay first if you get a chance.
Sculpting in clay is a preliminary step to some bronze casting. A lot of bronze casting starts with making a mold and the clay could be what you make the mold from.
If you are lucky you can find a class where the students sculpt a figure in clay from a model in the center of the room.
Go to the library or book store and look up books by Bruno Lucchesi, You could also do a web search on Bruno Lucchesi
That would show some interesting figurative sculpture
